LAST DAY MOCKERS AND SCOFFERS

Here we will look at the many mockers and deceivers out there. They reject sound bible doctrine. We will focus mainly on those who mock and reject doctrines related to the 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus.

2 Peter 3
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

We live in the very last of the last days before the return of the Lord Jesus. All around mockers can be seen. Their favorite form of mocking is to deny and mock the pre trib rapture of the saved church. Here we will look at what the bible says about these mockers of bible prophecy and the return of the Lord Jesus.

Let me define terms. To be saved, one must only trust in the Lord Jesus alone for eternal salvation. The rapture is not part of salvation. One can be saved and not understand the rapture or bible prophecy. The fact is there are those who lack bible teaching and just do not know too much about bible prophecy or the rapture. That is fine. That can be cured by solid bible teaching. Sadly, the many apostate churches refuse to talk about bible prophecy these days. Many confused will call themselves pan tribbers as they know somehow it will all pan out. This is more of a result of lack of teaching and lack of bible knowledge. These people love the Lord and they love sound bible doctrine and will respond to it whan they are taught the basics.

However there are mockers and scoffers that "claim" to be a christian, but they do not love bible doctrine at all. They reject and hate the rapture and do all they can to mock it and disprove it. These mockers are not open to correction and will not listen to sound bible doctrine and teaching. Here are some of the methods these mockers/scoffers use:

1.... they tell lies. Example.. they say darby or macdonald created the pre trib rapture.  Lie.. it was a mystery given to Paul.
2.... they twist scripture. Example.. They quote a section of the bible talking about the physical 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus and then claim.. see there is no pre trib here.
3.... they take verses out of context. Example.. they quote 2 thess 2:3 then say this proves there is no pre trib rapture. They ignore the restrainer being removed in 2 thess 2:6-8
4...  they quote a portion of scripture. Then they distort the meaning in a feeble attempt to push their deception and lies.
5.... they never listen. cannot be corrected, reject sound bible teaching
6... they insult/attack anyone who disagrees

Let me say outright that these are not part of the fruits of salvation. People who lie, distort the truth, and deceive are just not saved christians at all. They are servants of satan here to lie and to deceive, just like satan does.

God's saved people love the bible and do respond to sound bible doctrine. The mockers/scoffers are opposite of that proving they never were saved in the first place. Satan hates the hope of the rapture, and so do his servants, the mockers and scoffers.

There are other mockers that will say this: For almost 2000 years people were looking for the Lord to return. He did not come then, He is not coming now.

They almost quote this verse, though they do not know it..  2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. In direct filfullment of this verse, they moan that the Lord Jesus is not coming back soon.

Let me conclude by saying that these mockers and scoffers are not saved. They attack the doctrine of the rapture and in doing so also attack the coming of the Lord Jesus to 1.. rapture home his saved 2... His second coming. These are not brothers in Christ. Instead these heretics who reject the bible and sound doctrine.

Proverbs 15
10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Acts 13
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Jude 1
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Proverbs 9
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee

Proverbs 15
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

In these last days there are many mocker and scoffer deceivers out there. They reject doctrines related to the 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus. But they dont stop there. Others deny the Trinity and preach a false gospel of works for salvation. Be aware of these deceivers and servants of satan. Do not let then lead you astray via their lies and dishonesty.
