PRIESTS BEFORE THE LORD
By Alan Yusko
Are you redeemed? Are you saved, born again, a new creature in the Lord Jesus Christ? If so then here is some very good news for you. Did you know you are a priest before God? Its true. Look at this verse:
Revelation 5:
10 “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
This verse says the saved are kings and priests before God. Now as kings we hae nothing to rule in this world. That comes later after the Lord Jesus returns physically to earth. However, right now you are a priest before God. As a priest you can pray and His ears are open to your prayers. This also gives everyone who is saved a minstry before God. When you see a need in this evil lost world, then pray to the Lord about it. In doing so the Lord hears your prayer and can choose to do things as a result of your prestly prayer.
Here is another verse:
Philippians 4:
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
We are told here to make our requests known unto God. Now this means to present your requests before God as He will hear them. They can be for yourself, for your family, or for anything going on in this evil world. As priests we are told to pray to the Lord as He hears our requests.
Look at this
James 5:
16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Here were are told that our prayers availeth much. It is not a waste of time to pray and make our requests known before the Lord. This verse says our fervent prayer, availeth much. That is great news. Keep praying as it is very effective.
Here is two additional verses:
Proverbs 15:
29 “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
Proverbs 15:
8 “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”
As you can see the Lord wants us to pray and make our requests known. Our prayers are also His delight. He loves hearing the prayers of His saved children.
Here is some advise to get started in your priestly prayer ministry. Do not save prayers for 1 time of the day. The reason is by the time that 1 time arrives you will have forgotten many prayer needs. So to fix that get into the habit of praying all the day long. When you see a need, immediately talk to the Lord in prayer about it. If you see something wrong, immediately pray about it. Here is some more adivse. You do not have to be in "prayer position" to pray to the Lord. You can be walking down the street, see a need, and immediately pray to the Lord. You can be sitting somewhere and immediately pray. You need not be on your knees with your hands clapsed together in some kind of prayer position. Just pray and you can do it off and on all the day long.
To conclude. As saved christians we all are priests before the Lord. We have the right and the authority to make needs known to the Lord as we see them. So take this seriously and start praying as you see needs in this evil world. Realize the Lord hears them.
REPENTANCE: PART OF SALVATION Alan Yusko I have see confused believers or even false teachers make the foolish claim that repentance is not needed for salvation. Well, they are wrong and lack a proper understanding to the gospel that saves. You see if a person loves sin, he/she can never be saved. This is where repentance comes in. It is a hatred of sin and a desire to be free from it. Then come to the Lord Jesus and trust in Him alone for eternal salvation. This is how one may be saved. But false teachers do not see repentance in their favorate salvation verse so they twist the scriptures and claim it is not a part of salvation. Below are several verses in the New Testament that apply to a lost soul that desires to be saved. Just admit to the Lord you are a lost sinner and hate your sin. Then come to the Lord Jesus for eternal salvation. Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence o...
